Butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid essential for optimal digestive health. Holistic health care advocates have been using butyrate in the form of an enema for many years throughout the U.S. Now we are able to offer the same effective strategy in the form of a suppository. There is evidence in the literature that supplementing with butyrate can support people with distal ulcerative colitis and inflammatory bowel conditions like Crohn’s disease.

The important function that butyrate serves in the digestive system is to reduce inflammation, however, it has numerous other benefits. Butyrate is a byproduct of the digestive process that can strengthen colonic defenses, prevent re-uptake of toxins into the body, and increase intestinal barrier function.  Since butyrate is found naturally in a healthy colon, suppository use can be a safe and effective route of delivery.

When butyrate levels in the digestive system are low, it can result in ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s, and for some without an IBD condition it can cause diarrhea.  A butyrate suppository is used to help restore the levels of butyrate in the colon.  Our sodium butyrate suppositories are made of the highest quality materials.

Dosage and Storage Instructions: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Keep the suppository in the refrigerator so it remains hard before removing the wrapper. Put on a finger cot or disposable glove, if desired (available at a pharmacy). Lubricate the suppository with a water soluble lubricant such as K-Y Jelly or coconut oil, not petroleum jelly (Vaseline). If you do not have this lubricant, moisten your rectal area with cool tap water. Lie on your side with your lower leg straightened out and your upper leg bent forward toward your stomach. Lift upper buttock to expose the rectal area. Insert the Bullet, pointed end first, with your fingers until it passes the muscular sphincter of the rectum, about ½ to 1 inch in infants and 1 inch in adults (If not inserted past this sphincter, the Bullet may pop out). Hold buttocks together for a few seconds. Remain lying down for about 5 minutes to avoid having the Bullet come out. Discard used materials and wash your hands thoroughly. Suggested dosage is 1 (one) suppository daily or as directed by your health practitioner. 

Store this product in a refrigerated climate. Keep this product away from sunlight. Please use the product within six months of purchase date for best results. Please ask your healthcare provider before taking this or any of ABC’s products. There are 10 suppositories in each order.

Many people are uneasy with even mentioning of rectal Bullets, until they realize how very powerful this approach can prove to be.  For some, navigating around this phobia could make the difference between health and sickness, or enhanced performance fort those biohackers!

There is a growing acknowledgement of the need to provide safer, more cost-effective treatments, that can either reduce the need for pharmaceuticals (ie: drugs) and/or to reduce their side effects. How do Rectal Bullets Work?

Everything, when administered orally, is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract into the portal venous circulation, and passes through the liver (first pass metabolism), where the process of metabolism or breakdown begins. Suppositories, like intravenous (IV), intramuscular (IM), and transdermal methods of administration, bypass this “first pass” effect and are absorbed into the rectal veins without encountering liver metabolism. Fortunately, the rectum is filled with blood vessels that offer direct access into the body’s bloodstream. This allows for rapid access to systemic circulation.

When nutrients are put into our special suppository base, they are protected and delivered through Slow Release Technology, along with the support of the probiotics APO-808. ABC’s proprietary suppository base is formulated with ingredients that promote the movement of the active nutrients from the base to the rectum.  This technology facilitates solubility, and allows a compound that is usually insoluble in water (hydrophobic) to dissolve, and thus be absorbed. This is crucial for poorly absorbed compounds.

ABC’s suppositories are easy to insert, non-irritating, rapid-melting, fully absorbed in 5-10 minutes, and you’ll not know its in there after insertion.
